Brian's Testimony
Brian was born in Kansas City, Kansas, to Dale and Irene Cooper. He grew up in a Christian home with two older sisters. While attending a Youth for Christ rally with his family on a Saturday night in 1974, Brian realized his need for a Saviour and was born again.
In 1980 Brian completed all the requirements to attain the rank of Eagle Scout from the Boy Scouts of America. After graduating from high school in 1981 with National Honor Society honors, the Lord began to mold and shape Brian into the vessel that he would later use. In 1983 Brian completed his study in Machine Tool Technology and graduated from Pittsburg State Technical School. While working in the business of aircraft part machining, he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to attend Spartan School of Aeronautics in 1987. After obtaining his commercial multi-engine pilot license with instrument rating and certified flight instructor instrument certificate, he returned to Kansas City in 1989 to begin working as a flight instructor for Baker Aviation at the downtown airport.
Brian met his future wife Joni in 1990 while he was working as an instructor, and they were married in November 1991. Both were very involved in ministry at their local church, Kansas City Baptist Temple, where Brian also completed their Shepherd School of Ministry. Brian took several mission trips to Central America, as well as Holland and South Korea. In 1994 the Coopers were sent out with a group to begin a new church plant in southwest Kansas City. In 1999, with their three daughters, they left this work to begin serving and ministering at New Hope Baptist church in Independence, Missouri, where they were responsible for bus ministry, children’s church, and missions.
In 2003 the Lord opened the door of opportunity again and called the Cooper family to be full-time missionaries to the streets and churches of America. After eight years of preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ all over America and helping churches build, remodel, and grow physically and spiritually, the Lord opened another door of opportunity.
In 2011 the Cooper family joined Wyldewood Baptist Church and became a part of the Wings As Eagles ministry, continuing their pursuit of lifelong goals: 1) To uplift and glorify the name above all names, JESUS CHRIST! 2) To use their talents and abilities to serve the Lord anywhere, anyway, anytime. It is truly their privilege to serve their best friend, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, as they eagerly anticipate his imminent return. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
