Wyldewood Christian School is an integral part of our overall church ministry. It was established in 1975 for the benefit of those parents who desire full-time Christian training for their children. We offer training for children enrolled in kindergarten through high school, utilizing the School of Tomorrow curriculum. Our entire curriculum is Bible-based, with Scriptural principles woven into quality academics to provide a Christ-centered program. Our school is a member of the Wisconsin Association of Christian Schools and the host of the state wide Wisconsin A.C.E. Student Convention.
In addition to the academics, our students enjoy classes in music, art, Bible and physical education. There are opportunities for children in elementary and high school to develop skills in a wide range of fields through our school plays and athletic program. Our students also participate in speech, music, and fine arts competition. We enjoy the support and participation of many of the student's parents as volunteers for the various activities at Wyldewood Christian School.
Each year our students participate in a variety of activities in addition to their academic school work. They include team sports such as volleyball, soccer, basketball, track and softball. Elementary and Jr. High students compete in the WACS Academic and Fine Arts Meet in Math, Spelling, Bible, Music, Art and Speech. Our High School students are involved with competition in Choir, Solos, duets, trios, quartets in vocal and instrumental music as well as academics, athletics, arts/crafts and speech. The young people minister in rest homes services as well as provide a Sunday evening service for our church congregation twice each school year. Most years they also perform a school play.
Mr. Clayton is a life long resident of Wisconsin. He was born and raised in Madison, where he received his elementary and high school education. Upon his graduation he attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater where he received his degree in Secondary Education.
He relocated in 1973 to the Fox Valley where he taught at Appleton East High School. Shortly after he trusted Christ as his personal Savior in September of 1973 he joined Southside Baptist Church of Oshkosh. In 1975 Mr. Clayton surrendered to God's call to the ministry and he was ordained in February of 1977. He and has served as the principal of Wyldewood Christian School since its inception in 1975. Brother Clayton married the former Jackie Nelson (daughter of former pastor Howard Nelson), in 1974 and they have five children.
