Working exclusively through local Baptist churches and American mission agencies, we contact missionaries who are involved in training national pastors. We ask them to submit names of worthy, God-called men they have trained who could use financial help. They must have completed their pastoral training and agree to be accountable to that missionary for at least two years. The missionary agrees to provide oversight and to send quarterly reports to the Omega Ministry on the works he oversees.
Omega support is sent through the mission board to the account of the American missionary and he distributes it to his men. Support levels vary, but the Omega Ministry bases its support upon the missionary's recommendation and the availability of funds. Typically, a man is supported monthly at the $100 level for two years. The support is only temporary (and only part of his total need) because we do not want to breed long-term dependency upon American money. Handling the funds in this way avoids many of the pitfalls encountered by other ministries.
