Resources

Wyldewood Baptist Church has a multi-faceted ministry that includes many resources. While we are not in the business of selling products, we are happy to provide these materials to those who desire them. Virtually all of these items have been given away free of charge in the past, but increased costs have made it necessary for us to charge a nominal fee. Wherever there is a price listed you will find it very low. This is just to cover our cost of production and a small fee for shipping and for maintaining the ministry. No money ever goes to benefit the pastor. You may direct any questions to Pastor King at <revrgk@wyldewood.org>.

Pastor King's Adult Sunday School Lesson Series (In Print)

These lesson series have been taught at Wyldewood Baptist Church since 1993. They are available in print, but not on tape. The lessons come as a set for each subject, and they can be reproduced at no charge for teaching purposes. There is no claim of originality! Many different sources are quoted and used. The cost of each set reflects only our cost of reproduction and shipping.

I. Lesson Series on "Principles"

This series covers a wide range of topics pertinent to Christians today. It distinguishes between "Principles; Convictions; Standards; Preferences; and Hangups." It is very practical, challenging the students to establish Biblical principals in their lives.

INTRODUCTORY PAGE:
A series of lessons on Biblical principles, designed to instruct and admonish Christians. The idea for this material is from Dr. Rene Ouellette from Bridgeport, Michigan. It is my prayer that God will use these lessons to strengthen us in the word of righteousness. A key passage is Hebrews 5:12-14.

DEFINITIONS:

PRINCIPLE--Conforming to virtue and piety; an orderly walk. (Strong's Concordance) "...A law comprehending many subordinate truths..." (Webster's Dictionary) Hebrews 5:12, 6:1 A PRINCIPLE IS A BIBLE TRUTH THAT I MUST LIVE BY TO BE PLEASING TO GOD. Related Bible terms: Statutes, judgments, precepts, law of the Lord, thy Word, commandments.

CONVICTION--Convinced; admonition; rebuke (Strong's Concordance) "...the state of being convinced or convicted by conscience; being sensible of guilt; acknowledging error..." (Webster's Dictionary) John 8:9, Romans 2:15 A CONVICTION IS A PERSONAL BELIEF BASED ON A BIBLICAL PRINCIPLE WHICH I GUIDE MY LIFE BY.

STANDARD--A banner; to lift up an ensign; to raise a beacon (Strong's Concordance) "...That which is established by sovereign power as a rule of measure by which others are to be adjusted..." (Webster's Dictionary) Isaiah 59:19 A STANDARD IS A GUIDELINE TO HELP ME KEEP MY CONVICTION.

PREFERENCE--To exalt or excel; to lift up (Strong's Concordance) "...estimation of one thing above another, choice of one thing rather than another..." (Webster's Dictionary) Psalm 137:6 A PREFERENCE IS SOMETHING I CHOOSE OR PRACTICE WHICH HAS NO DIRECT BIBLICAL BASIS, BUT WHICH I BELIEVE IS PLEASING TO GOD. Often, the Holy Spirit guides sensitive Christians in matters of doubtful things, especially regarding areas of life that affect our testimony to the lost or weak believers.

HANG-UP--SOMETHING I BELIEVE VERY STRONGLY, AND EVEN THOUGH I KNOW IT IS NOT IN THE BIBLE, I WISH IT WAS! Frequently, hang-ups are a result of false teaching, preconceived ideas, or spiritual pride. While preferences can be somewhat substantiated by scriptural truths, hang-ups are merely a person's opinion or belief about something with no Biblical foundation. Often, carnal or weak Christians focus on these areas rather than true Biblical principles.

This series of lessons will be taught with Bible principles as the focus. After establishing the Bible principle, we will develop convictions, determine standards of conduct, and review the related preferences. Then we will examine some of the popular hang-ups associated with each topic. It is my prayer that these lessons will be used of God to perfect the saints and edify the body of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-16, Isaiah 28:9-10

Contents:

There are 30 lessons in all, averaging 6 pages per lesson. They have blanks for the students to fill out. To see a Sample Lesson, click here. The cost for the entire set is $25.00 including shipping. To place an order or to obtain a Resource Guide and Order Form, click here.

II. Lesson Series "Come Now and Let us Reason Together"

This series is a "jelly on the lower shelf where everybody can get it" systematic theology course. The Table of Contents page follows:

This series will follow the natural pattern of questions addressed in books of Christian apologetics. First we will consider the existence of God; next the attributes of God; thirdly the relationship of God to man; and lastly, questions regarding man, faith, and religion. There will be no attempt to come up with some "new doctrine." We do not pretend to have all the answers, be we will simply use the Bible with other sources to try to bring to light the truths of God regarding these subjects. If at times the study seems overly simple for such complex topics, please bear in mind that the lessons are not intended to impress theology students. The purpose of these lessons is to encourage and give understanding to Christians who are first considering these mighty truths. Pastor Randy King

III. Lesson Series "Stand Fast, In the Liberty"

Members of Wyldewood Baptist Church were invited to ask any question they wished about any subject that they wanted information on. Those questions were arranged in an orderly fashion, combined to avoid duplication, and given a concise answer. No effort was made to please everyone! The pastor just "shot from the hip" and gave the answers to the following:

Contents

Section I: Questions regarding salvation and related issues

1. If someone prays everyday and asks the Lord to save them, are they really saved? What about those who say they really "meant it" when they took their confirmation vows?
2. If a person says he is saved by faith in Christ, but still believes that he has to speak in tongues, be baptized, take mass, or other similar things, is he really saved?
3. Can a person be saved any time he wants to be?
4. Can a person be truly saved when someone uses the wrong Bible translation to lead him to salvation?
5. Can a person be too bad to be saved, or is it possible that he has "sinned away" his day of grace?
6. How do you know that you can't lose your salvation? What about those verses the Pentecostals use?
7. If a person claims to be saved, but never shows any fruit of salvation, is he really saved?
Section II: Questions regarding practical Christian living
8. What about divine healing? Is it for today? Does the Bible promise good health for a Christian?
9. Why do you need to be baptized? Can a person go to heaven without it? Are un-baptized in the Bride of Christ?
10. What about the gifts of the Spirit? Are tongues for today? When do you receive the Holy Spirit and what about the filling of the Holy Spirit? Are Charismatics saved?
11. What about all the different religions' teachings on communion? How do I know what is right? Should I take communion when I visit another church? Will you bring communion to my home if I am sick?
12. Is it all right for a Christian to drink in moderation?
13. How should a Christian relate to government. Should we pay taxes? Get state licenses? Should we be tax exempt? Is war for us today, or should we be pacifists? Hasn't Christ called us to peace?
14. Why do we insist on the King James Version of the Bible? Many churches have switched to newer translations. Aren't they easier to read? What about the original Greek?
15. Can a divorced person be forgiven? What about his service to the Lord?
16. If a Christian uses a credit card or an ATM, is he hastening the cashless society and the anti-christ, one- world government? Is he helping the devil accomplish his purposes?
Section III: Local church teachings, policies and related things
17. Why don't we fellowship with other groups and denominations? Why call ourselves Baptist? Are the Southern Baptists all apostate?
18. How do we "pick and choose" when we will be under law and when we will be under grace? Aren't we inconsistent? Should the church be run by the pastor's preferences? Why can't we have more contemporary music? Why not "loosen up" a few things around here so we can get more folks in? What exactly is a legalist? How formal should a worship service be? Should we allow clapping in church? Is it right to tell jokes?
19. How do we handle moral issues in our church? It often appears that we are inconsistent when dealing with people, their problems, and church discipline. What exactly are the standards and policies?
20. Why do we allow people to become members as soon as they are baptized? Where is church membership in the Bible? Should it be harder to get into a Baptist church than it is to get into heaven?
There are 20 lessons in all, averaging 4 pages per lesson. They have blanks for the students to fill out. To see a Sample Lesson, click here. The cost for the entire set is $25.00 including shipping. To place an order or to obtain a Resource Guide and Order Form, click here.

IV. Lesson Series "As I Understand The Bible, The Best Christian Would..."

This very unusual and thought-provoking series lasted 15 weeks and generated very lively discussions in our adult class. The purpose of the lessons was to encourage Christians to think issues completely through before they made snap decisions and took premature action. (A fool uttereth all his mind, a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.) Each lesson poses an imaginary scenario, asks thoughtful questions, and leads the student through to a Godly conclusion. It is the best thing we have ever done to give our people grace and patience with delicate situations. There are 15 lessons in all, with 2 pages per lesson. They each have the same introduction and the same ending questions. To see a Sample Lesson, click here. The cost for the entire set is $15.00 including shipping.
