Establishment of the Wyldewood Ministry Development Fund
Wyldewood Baptist Church Incorporated (originally incorporated as "Southside Baptist Church, Incorporated") is a not-for-profit corporation (501c-3) registered in the state of Wisconsin. It was granted tax-exempt status by the Internal Revenue Service in December of 1961. A new, integral part of that ministry is hereby established to help further the purposes of Wyldewood Baptist Church.
This ministry is known as the "Wyldewood Ministry Development Fund." (WMDF) Its function is to provide a vehicle for donors to financially support various ministries through planned giving, endowments, grants, etc. Donors can advise the church as to their wishes regarding distribution of the funds, but the church retains sole authority as to the use of the funds. The church will honor the spirit and intent of the donor. Policies regarding this ministry (including financial policies) must be reviewed by the deacons and approved by majority vote of Wyldewood Baptist Church. We strive to be unquestionable in all financial dealings, and all policies must be in accordance with state and federal laws as well as our church constitution and by-laws.
A primary purpose of this ministry is to enable donors to contribute money as principle for investment. These funds will be invested in financial instruments (at no risk to principle) that yield gains to support various ministries. Some gifts may distribute both principle and interest; others may distribute interest only. For example, a donor may wish to contribute a major gift to Bearing Precious Seed by way of this fund. The gift would be invested in accordance with the financial policy established by the church, and the interest gained would be distributed on a regular basis to support Bearing Precious Seed. If the donor also wishes to have the principle distributed to Bearing Precious Seed over a period of time, this would be accomplished via this fund.
The ministry head oversees day to day operations, but decisions involving regular investments, distributions, wages, and so forth are made with consideration given to the donor's request, the guidance of established policy, and the recommendation of a majority of the WMDF board.
Funds designated for this ministry are not part of the general fund of Wyldewood Baptist Church. A separate bank account is established for the utilization of these funds. The WMDF has the authority to establish various accounts within the fund to facilitate its needs and to provide accountability. The finance committee of Wyldewood Baptist Church (pastor, treasurer, and trustees) is responsible for monitoring all financial dealings. The WMDF ministry head is directly responsible to the pastor and the WMDF Board and must:
In the event that this ministry ever ceases to exist, money remaining in this fund must (as much as possible) be distributed in a manner consistent with the intent of the original donor. Distribution of remaining undesignated or unassigned funds will be by the recommendations of the finance committee and approval of a majority of the members present and voting at a duly called business meeting of the church.
Voted and approved by vote of Wyldewood Baptist Church on November 29, 2000
